Specializing in high school senior portraits was a choice I made many years ago, because I love working with this age group. Sixteen-eighteen year olds are coming into their own and have an idea of what they might like to do out in the world. They're energetic, enthusiastic and interesting and get me excited when we discuss how they see their own portrait session.
When I sat down with Nathan, a senior at Webster Thomas High School, I learned so much about what makes him tick. He was honest about his life and I was struck at how mature he was for his age. He has managed to overcome a lot of adversity which I feel has given him a perspective on life that many of his peers just don't have. He was funny, thoughtful and so excited for his session. Oh, and the clothes....he brought bags of them!!
He wanted to do studio and outdoors so he chose the Fusion Session which allows for both. Mom came along for the fun. Nathan wanted to surprise her with a few of his outfit choices, so he banished her to the car while we shot studio images of him in his firefighting gear and his uniform (he's part of the Explorers program). When they came to get their order, his mom had the biggest smile on her face. Now that's a senior I love working with! All the best to Nathan as he makes his way through his senior year. I can't wait to see what he does with his future!!!
I'm sure he'd love to know what you think of his portraits. Take a sec and leave a comment.
